Code of Conduct and Team Play
As with all sports, you are asked to treat your fellow players with the normal respect and courtesy. Inappropriate language and gestures should not be used or tolerated. Remember that, even in the heat of competition, bowls should be a friendly game to play. Smoking is not permitted inside the gate from the car park or in the Clubhouse.
During coaching you will learn the rules for the order of play and the etiquette. The following are the main points. Most games that you will take part in will be "Rinks" (teams of 4 players each having 2 bowls).
More detailed rules of etiquette are given on the notice board and website.
The Club operates a safeguarding policy: for details see the notice board and website.

- The first player or "lead" positions the mat, decides where the jack is placed by the skip and delivers his or her bowls alternating with the opposing lead, followed by the No.2 player.
- The No.3 player assists the "skip" and agrees the "count" or score with the opposing No.3, measuring distances where necessary.
- The final player or "skip" directs the game and plays last.
